Hits Most Nouvelle Vague: ‘Cleo de 5 a 7’

The third Hits Most session, this year dedicated to the Nouvelle Vague, features the only female voice of this new wave. Although she began her career aligned with the movement’s characteristics, she eventually decided to explore other languages ​​and forms.

One of the most iconic films of Agnès Varda‘s early years as a filmmaker was Cleo from 5 to 7 (1962), a reflection on the love of life, lack of humility, and death, starring Corinne Marchand.

According to renowned film critic Jonathan Rosenbaum, Cleo from 5 to 7 “offers an irreplaceable time capsule of Paris (…) Innovative and moving, beautifully shot and crafted.”
