The first feature film by French filmmaker and critic François Truffaut, starring Jean-Pierre Léaud, Albert Rémy and Claire Maurier, is one of the three Hits Most sessions dedicated to the Nouvelle Vague, on the occasion of the presentation of Richard Linklater’s latest work in the Gran Reserva section, which the American filmmaker dedicates to the shooting of one of the movement’s most recognized works: (Jean-Luc Godard, 1960).
The 400 Blows (1959), a film that was defining of this new artistic wave, tells the story of Antoine Doinel, a misunderstood and rebellious teenager, a fictional character with autobiographical overtones who appears in later works by the Parisian author, such as Stolen Kisses or Bed and Board.
